Simply put - we want you at church! The ministry at The Altar wears "traditional Sunday attire" but we leave your clothes up to your discretion. You will see everything from t-shirts to "Sunday Best". Modesty is the attribute most desired. We encourage you to be able to worship without distraction.
The Altar enjoys a contemporary, heartfelt worship style. We also blend many of the older songs once loved by many into our worship services. The worship service are usually described as "passionate". The preaching will be challenging, applicable, and life-shaping.
Some will sit back and enjoy the service. Others will sing from their heart. Some will shout "Hallelujah!" You choose.
Sunday mornings - Kids go to children's church ages 5-12 after praise and worship. We all start together in the sanctuary.
- Smaller kids go directly to nursery ages 1-4.
Wednesday - Everyone stays together in the sanctuary. use before and after church.
Our services are generally 60-90 minutes on average.
You will be greeted with a smile to make you feel at home. You will hear praise and worship music playing throughout the church. We will not embarass you, ask you to sing a special, or even give money. We are simply glad you would choose to worship with us and pursue a path to serve God. There is usually coffee and hot tea available after church for your enjoyment.
YES! We love our young people. The Altar generally has a youth night once a month to have some fun. You will notice that the young people are very active at The Altar Church.
